Putting Green New Turf-Experiment:
Late planting and too few sprigs resulted in an unfinished product.  Delays by the grower resulted in the late planting.  We underestimated the volume of sprigs needed fo the area.  This was an experiment to determine the feasibility of using Mini Verde sprigs on the East greens sometime after the West greens renovation.  The ultimate goal is to have all 36 holes using premium turf conditions.  Our research has shown that Mini Verde does quite well on push-up greens like our East greens. The putting green should be completed by mid-May 2008.

East Course Irrigation System:
The East course irrigation system has recurring issues causing problems, including fitting leaks and controller malfunctions. The system was installed in 1988 and was “state of the art” at that time. However, some components of the system just weren’t designed well enough to last to 2007. We are experiencing many issues requiring constant repairs to keep the system up just to do light irrigation of the greens and tees. We have met with irrigation companies to lay the ground work for funding required to renovate that system. We are working on getting the funding now but it will take time to get this project funded.  We will work to get this resolved at the soonest date possible.
